Our club activities are off to a great start. We have already held 2 Local Workshops: Kitchen Utensils with Hand tools w/Brett, Intro to Power Tools w/Alan and one National lecture and Workshop w/Mario. Some of us went on a field trip to Naples to visit Dick Baker’s wood lot and boy does he haw a lot of wood! If you are In the Naples area, look Dick up…

Next up is Kevin Rodel lecture and workshop later this month discussing Arts and Crafts style furniture techniques. We have a good crowd for this with some more spots open for the demo at Mark Rakestraw’s shop in Rochester. So make your reservation fast.

Our club membership is slightly ahead of last year’s and our finances are very strong. As I mentioned last time, we needed someone to fill the Publicity Chair for RWS and I am glad to announce that the Board has approved the nomination of Jim Begley for that position. He will be formally introduced at the next National meeting with the full membership voting on Jim for the position. So thanks to all our members for their continued support and especially Jim for stepping forward to fill this important club chairmanship.

It is that time of year to help out CP Rochester with donations for their classrooms. Once again, Rolf will be heading up this effort for us and he will be sending out a note soon outlining how we can help. It is amazing what a few dollars can buy to help out the students at CP so please be generous this year as we always are.

We have a new rule for all workshops and any SIG Demos. You will be required to wear eye and hearing protection. You can bring your own or we will provide them as needed.

Just a quick reminder that we are busy working on our plans for the next Showcase in April. More info later in the newsletter. However, we do need one position filled on the committee and that of a Chairman for the Judges. It is not a lot of work so please consider helping us out and send me a note if you can.
