Well it is that time of year again where we make our list and check it twice… then we hand it over to “Mrs. Clause”. She or He is happy because the only item on the list; Gift Card from Woodcraft.
We do this because we don’t trust that anyone else can get us the correct tool. My family knows this all too well!
So what is on your real wish list: A new Saw Stop table saw? A shiny new Lie Neilsen #4 smoother? How about some diamond stones for sharpening? Or maybe a subscription to Paul Seller’s Master Class? Whatever it is, it is destined to make us a better wood worker.
That is our clubs goal and mission: To make us better wood workers.
To that end, we have a great line up of speakers and workshops for the 2nd half of our season. Starting off with Mark and Rich leading a workshop on Power Tool Safety in Marks shop on January 1 0th. Then the next weekend dubbed as our High Tech weekend, we have a talk on Laser Engraving on the 1 6th at St John and a CNC machine demo at CP Rochester on the 1 7th. More info on these below….
One final item, we are beginning a relationship with Rochester Makerspace in which their membership will be invited to participate in some of our workshops and RWS is being offered a $5. discount off their monthly membership fee.
While most of us seasoned wood workers more than likely have a fully stocked workshop, those that are just starting out in the trade may not. Rochester Makerspace has a wood shop that continues to grow and a membership with them may be a nice transition until you get your own shop. Check out their web site: RochesterMakerspace.org or attend one of their Open Houses.
I know I speak for our Board, SIG Leaders and Volunteers in wishing all of you a healthy and wonderful Holiday. See you next year…
