In his Friday evening presentation, Tom will talk about his work and experiences as turner. The meeting will begin at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, November 17 in 135 Basil Hall on the campus of St. John Fisher College.
We have two workshops scheduled with Tom Wirsing. The first one will be a demo workshop on Saturday November 18, where he will go through all the steps to make platters and plates. He will talk about design, how to hold the wood blanks, good and bad techniques for turning the platters. He will also focus on the use of Negative Rake Scrapers. There will also be a section on tool steels for turning; and on Sunday November 20, there will be a hands-on workshop where John will help students with a project TBD.

Prior to the meeting, we will hold a silent auction where you can sell items that are no longer needed. Please fill out the Silent Auction Form with the minimum price and incremental bid amount and bring it with your items on Friday, one form per item.
