Chair and Period Furniture SIG
The Chair and Period Furniture SIG meetings are at 7:00pm on the
1st Monday of each month. We discuss different aspects of period
furniture and do different demos each month. Even if you do not
plan to build period furniture the topics we cover can be applied
to forms of woodworking, and all members are invited.
The January meeting will be held at Jim
Altemus' house on January 9, 2012 (note change of
date). The topic of discussion will be arm chairs. This is a follow
up to last years meeting where Jim discussed his new dinning room
chairs. Jim will talk about modifying thoses chairs to make an
armchair.

The first meeting of the 2011-2012 season was at Tim Talma's
shop. We discussed the topics for the upcoming season, as well as
looked at the various projects we worked on this past summer. Dan
Holmes showed pictures of his Chris Craft boat reproduction (come
see it at Octobers meeting). And Tim showed of his mockup for a
riving knife for his 60 year old delta table saw.

The meetings are open to all current RWS members and members are
invited to attend one or all of the meetings. If you are not an RWS
member but want to find out what it's all about you may come to one
meeting as a guest.
I do not post members addresses online, and will mail out the
meeting address the day of the meeting. Our meetings are always at
7:00pm on the first Monday of the month unless noted.
