| Jeff shows flexible backing material called "wigglewood" |
He shows some examples of various designs that can be created |
Different directions create diamonds, starbursts, and more |
The workshop was videotaped for the RWS library for those not able to attend |

| Edge treatments include veneer to spline attached solid wood ... |
to thin stock attached |
Jeff's example to explain the 5 ply material |
Here he shows the typical veneer tape used to prepare materials for gluing |

|
| Here you see the face side with tape holding the pieces as well as reinforcing the edges |
One of the more recent timesavers is a veneer "stitching" machine |
It uses a fiberglass fiber that is glued to the veneer to hold the pieces in place |
The front rollers push the work together as the fiberglass and glue zig zags across the pieces |
|

|

|
| The result is a fastening technique that is much quicker to use |
Jeff's many years of experience have taught him some valuable time & mat'l saving techniques |
He demonstrates a heat pressing technique for doing edge banding with veneer |
Glue is applied to both surfaces, when both are almost dry, they are pressed and heat bonds the glue |
