While a bit corny, it is a great teaching tool

Jim is probably the most accomplished skew user in the club

Like Ralph, Jim explained and then demonstrated

Jim covered the spindle gouge and skew

Proper tool orientation at the start of a cut is key

All of the students had personal attention from the instructors

With 2 students to a lathe, there was plenty of turning time

Over the course of the day, there was about 3 hours of lathe time

For the more advanced, there was a focus on their needs

Some beads and coves practice...

as well some planing skew practice
