Doug Mooberry Workshop

Additional handout information

Doug Mooberry's RWS workshop drew 28 attendees to Woodcraft
Doug's lecture used many photos of Kinlock's projects
Done in Powerpoint and projected, most were great visuals
Doug also used pass around examples to make points

During break, Doug fielded a lot of member project questions
One of the ongoing problems is authentic replica hardware
Some of Kinloch's banding from previous projects
And a more difficult circular one

Most hardware is designed and then lost wax cast in England
Virtually all of it has to be custom made
As time goes on, there are few sources...
since the volumes are so low...

and fewer companies are doing it, at least for hire
Another of the problems is "matching" the brass color
Brass is not always the same color...
and variation on the same piece would be very evident

Some examples of the same design in different locations
Different pieces of inlay used on Kinloch pieces
And some specials, a bit more difficult to make
Doug fielded all questions and candidly answered them all
