Introduction to Scroll Sawing Workshop

Bob Henry taught the Introduction to Scroll Sawing class
We had 14 attendees for the workshop
It was an "explain, show, and do" hands-on format
Bob shows how to check and adjust blade cutting angle

Some of the makes and sizes of blades available
Bob brought in an extensive array of his own work

Some of the available scroll saw materials

Bob shows some of the extensive literature and patterns published
The explanation as to why you cut in certain directions
The workshop was held at the Rochester Woodcraft Store
Some of the younger RWS members with their mom attended

There was plenty of hands on cutting time after lunch
Everyone started with the practice patterns
Mike Hachey helped with the hands on instruction
Some of the RWS lady members worked together

   
Most groups had two to a saw maximizing their cutting time
By the end of the day, the beginners were cutting like this
